The Blue Eyed Pleco has a few variation from different locations. The scientific names are often mixed up. They have been named, Panaque suttonorum, Panaque cochliodon, and Panaque suttoni. It is a herbivorous pleco native to Colombia from the Cauca and Magdalena River basins. This species grows to 16 inches. It is immediately distinguished by being dark grey to black and having bright, turquoise colored eyes.
