DESCRIPTION

Blue Diamond Angelfish β€” Pterophyllum scalare sp.
Subtle shimmer, timeless elegance

The Blue Diamond Angelfish is a refined variation of the classic angelfish β€” prized for its soft metallic blue sheen that shifts under light like brushed steel with hints of aqua. Unlike striped or patterned angels, the Blue Diamond carries a cleaner, more uniform look, allowing the reflective scales to become the focal point. Under proper lighting, the body glows with icy blue highlights that contrast beautifully against dark backgrounds and wood-heavy aquascapes.

Originating from Amazonian backwater bloodlines, angelfish are vertical swimmers designed to glide through submerged roots and branches. The Blue Diamond keeps that same calm, hovering behavior β€” moving slowly and deliberately before pivoting and drifting forward. In groups they create a tall, elegant display that adds depth to any aquarium.

Growing to about 6 inches in body size with much taller finnage, they are peaceful but still true cichlids β€” capable of establishing gentle hierarchy while remaining community-friendly when properly housed.
