DESCRIPTION

Apollo Shark (Luciosoma setigerum)

The Apollo Shark is a sleek, fast-swimming schooling fish known for its torpedo-shaped body, shimmering silver coloration, and high-energy behavior. Native to the rivers and streams of Southeast Asia, Luciosoma setigerum is built for speed, constantly cruising the upper levels of the aquarium.

This species gets its β€œshark” name from its streamlined profile and active nature, making it a perfect choice for hobbyists looking to add movement and life to larger aquariums. When kept in groups, Apollo Sharks create an impressive display as they dart and glide in synchronized patterns across the tank.

Due to their size and activity level, these fish require plenty of open swimming space and strong water movement. While generally peaceful, their fast pace can intimidate slower or more delicate species, so tank mates should be chosen carefully.
