Polka-dot precision with nonstop bottom energy
The Sterbai Cory Catfish is one of the most recognizable and sought-after Corydoras species in the hobby. Its deep charcoal to dark brown body is covered in crisp white polka-dot spotting, while the pectoral fins glow with subtle orange accents. The contrast between the dark base and bright spotting gives this species a refined, high-end look compared to more muted Cory varieties.
Native to the warm tributaries of Brazil’s Guaporé River basin, Corydoras sterbai thrives in tropical conditions and slightly warmer water than many other Cory species. It is an active, social bottom-dweller that constantly sifts sand in search of food, bringing movement and life to the lower levels of the aquarium.
Growing to approximately 2.5–3 inches, Sterbai Corydoras are compact but best appreciated in properly sized groups where their schooling behavior shines.
