The Crystal Red Parrot Cichlid is a selectively bred hybrid cichlid known for its intense red coloration, rounded body shape, and metallic pearling that can shimmer under aquarium lighting. This variety combines the bold personality and interactive behavior of Blood Parrot Cichlids with brighter “crystal” patterning and cleaner color coverage.

Many specimens develop deep reds across the body along with reflective white or blue speckling that gives the fish its “crystal” appearance. Their curious personality and willingness to interact with people outside the tank make them a popular centerpiece fish for larger aquariums.

Crystal Red Parrots are hardy and adaptable when kept in warm, clean water with good filtration. They can be kept with other semi-aggressive fish of similar size, though they do best in aquariums with enough space and structure to reduce territorial behavior.
