DESCRIPTION

Albino Golden Marble Tiger Shovelnose Catfish (Pseudoplatystoma fasciatum)

Description:
The Albino Golden Marble Tiger Shovelnose Catfish (Pseudoplatystoma fasciatum) is a breathtaking and rare variation of one of the most iconic monster catfish in the hobby. Featuring a stunning golden-yellow body contrasted with intricate marble striping and albino characteristics, this fish is an absolute showstopper. Known for its elongated body, wide โ€œshovelnose,โ€ and graceful swimming style, it brings both elegance and raw predatory presence to large aquariums. Fast-growing and highly active, this species quickly becomes the centerpiece of any serious predator setup.

Diet:
Carnivorous predator.

  • Eats fish, shrimp, worms, and other meaty foods
  • Readily accepts frozen foods such as silversides, shrimp, and market seafood
  • Can be trained onto sinking carnivore pellets
  • Feed 2โ€“3 times per week depending on size

Behavior:

  • Predatory but generally not overly aggressive toward similarly sized fish
  • Active swimmer, especially during feeding
  • Will consume any fish small enough to fit in its mouth
  • Best kept with large tank mates

Max Size:

  • Up to 4โ€“5 feet (120โ€“150 cm) in captivity with proper care

Tank Mates:

  • Suitable with large, non-aggressive to moderately aggressive species
  • Works well with arowanas, datnoids, large cichlids, and other big predators
  • Avoid small fish that may be eaten

Tank Size:

  • Minimum: 300 gallons for juveniles
  • Recommended: 1,000+ gallons or indoor pond for adults
  • Requires strong filtration, high oxygenation, and plenty of swimming space

A video must be submitted with your claim clearly showing the fish is dead in its original packaging and a second video of the fish out of the bag and on a dry flat surface.
