DESCRIPTION

Albino Featherfin Synodontis — Synodontis eupterus
The glowing sail of Africa

The Albino Featherfin Synodontis transforms a classic African catfish into a standout display fish. Its pale ivory body and red eyes contrast beautifully against dark backgrounds, while the species’ trademark tall, flowing dorsal fin rises like a sail — giving the fish a graceful profile rarely seen in bottom dwellers.

Native to river systems of West and Central Africa, Synodontis eupterus is known for personality as much as appearance. During the day it often shelters among wood and rock, but as lighting dims it becomes active, gliding along the substrate and even swimming upside-down beneath structure while searching for food with sensitive barbels.

Reaching around 7–8 inches, the Featherfin is hardy and adaptable, making it a perfect addition to African cichlid communities and other robust setups. The albino coloration adds contrast to darker tanks, turning a typically background species into a visible centerpiece without changing its dependable temperament.

They eagerly accept pellets, frozen foods, and meaty offerings, and help clean leftover food while still being an engaging fish in their own right. Over time they learn routines and emerge earlier, often waiting at feeding areas before food even hits the water.

A video must be submitted with your claim clearly showing the fish is dead in its original packaging and a second video of the fish out of the bag and on a dry flat surface.
