The Widebar Peacock Bass Hybrid is a selectively bred powerhouse designed for maximum contrast. This hybrid line emphasizes extra-thick jet-black vertical barring laid over a rich, metallic gold body. The result is a high-impact predator that looks painted in bold strokes — deep black columns cutting across a glowing yellow-gold base. Under strong lighting, the gold intensifies and the bars become even sharper, creating a dramatic, almost graphic look.

Built on Cichla genetics, this fish carries the classic peacock bass structure — muscular frame, large predatory mouth, and torpedo-shaped body engineered for explosive strikes. Unlike slower ambush fish, peacocks are active hunters that patrol open water and react instantly at feeding time. The hybrid selectively enhances coloration and pattern thickness while maintaining the athletic build and aggression typical of the genus.

Growing to 20–24+ inches depending on lineage and care, the Widebar Hybrid becomes a commanding mid-to-upper water predator suited for serious large-tank systems.
