Geophagus Jurupari Cichlid (Satanoperca jurupari)

The Geophagus Jurupari Cichlid, is an eartheater cichlid also known as Satanoperca jurupari, is a tropical fish with origins in South America. Having the ability to grow up to 10”, these fish usually top off at around 7” in aquarium conditions.

They prefer water temperature of 77 – 84°F, with a pH of 6.2 – 7.5, and a dH of 8.

As an omnivore, these fish will eat a wide variety of food. They are generally peaceful but may eat other small fish if given the opportunity. These fish will be happy in tanks that are well maintained with bogwood, branches, and plants. They will sift through your substrate all day keeping your tank clean.
