The Adolfo's cory catfish, or Corydoras adolfoi, is a beautiful freshwater catfish which was named in honor of Adolfo Schwartz, a renowned aquarist. As a cory catfish, it is a small, peaceful, and schooling fish found in South America. The Adolfo's cory catfish in particular is distinctive for its golden-red patch which appears right before its spiky dorsal fin. It typically grows to be between 2-3 inches in length.
In optimal conditions, the Adolfo cory catfish can live between 5-10 years. It is a schooling fish, and thus thrive best in quantities of minimum 6-8 individuals, which would help to encourage natural behaviors. When kept in great conditions, these catfish can live alongside many other small, schooling-type fish such as tetras, guppies, and other corydoras.
