Platinum Peruvian Altum Angelfish (Pterophyllum scalare)
The Platinum Peruvian Altum Angelfish is a sleek, high-end variant of Pterophyllum scalare, bred to showcase the tall, dramatic profile of Altum angelfish while maintaining the resilience of tank-raised stock. This strain features a clean platinum-white body with subtle metallic sheen, giving it a bright, almost glowing appearance under aquarium lighting.
Often referred to as βPeruvian Altums,β these angelfish exhibit a more elongated body, higher dorsal fin, and extended finnage compared to standard scalare varieties. The platinum coloration enhances their minimalist, refined look, making them an exceptional centerpiece in both planted and modern aquariums.
While more adaptable than true Pterophyllum altum, they still benefit from stable conditions and proper husbandry. Like all angelfish, they display semi-aggressive behavior and natural predatory instincts toward smaller tank mates.
Tank Size:
A minimum of 40 gallons is recommended for a single specimen, with 55β75+ gallons preferred for pairs or groups. Taller aquariums are strongly recommended to accommodate their increased height and flowing fins.

Omnivorous with a strong preference for protein-rich foods:

This means we will compensate you for any fish that died in transit and the associated shipping costs that occurred from shipping delays, damage or loss of package by shipping carrier. If shipment is late or damaged, but fish is alive, then you can claim for the shipping cost. All claims must be made within 2 hrs of receiving the package. A video must be submitted with your claim clearly showing the fish is dead in its original packaging and a second video of the fish out of the bag and on a dry flat surface. Claims may be denied if you fail to provide sufficient proof that clearly demonstrates loss. All compensation will be given in the form of store credit.
