Live Arrival Guarantee Policy – Predatory Fins

At Predatory Fins, we are committed to providing our aquarium community with the highest quality aquatic livestock. To ensure customer satisfaction, we offer a “Live Arrival” Guarantee on all fish purchased through our mail-order service.


Shipping Protection

We offer optional shipping protection at checkout.

With Shipping Protection:

  • You are fully covered for both fish and freight cost
  • Coverage applies if anything happens to your package, including late delivery or DOA (Dead on Arrival)

Without Shipping Protection:

  • If the fish arrives on time but is DOA, we will issue store credit for the value of the fish only
  • If the shipment arrives late and there is a DOA, you must file a claim directly with UPS

Guarantee Terms & Conditions (without shipping protection)

  • This guarantee does not cover shipping or handling charges; these costs are non-refundable
  • This guarantee does not cover UPS delays
  • The guarantee is void once the fish is introduced into your tank
  • We do not accept returns due to size concerns or tank compatibility

Banned Species Notice:
If you purchase a fish that is illegal in your state, your order will be canceled and a $100 restocking fee will be applied. We will not ship banned fish—do not attempt to order them.


In Case of Loss During Transit

In the rare event your fish arrives in poor condition or deceased, you must:

  • Notify us immediately upon confirming the fish arrived dead
  • Do NOT discard the fish without our authorization
  • Provide a full video of the unboxing, clearly showing:
    • You cutting and opening the package
    • The fish inside and its condition

No video = no proof. Claims without video will be denied.

  • Report the condition at the time of arrival
  • Claims are only valid if the fish is DOA or arrives in poor condition and subsequently dies

We do not cover DOA or freight costs caused by shipping delays, as these are outside of our control.


Late Shipments

If your shipment arrives late, you must file a claim directly with the shipping carrier (UPS) unless you purchased shipping protection.


Delivery & Acceptance Requirements

  • Shipments must be received immediately on first delivery attempt
    • Failure to do so will void the guarantee
  • Refusing a shipment will:
    • Disqualify you from future livestock purchases
    • Make you responsible for all associated shipping costs

Damaged Packages:

  • If your package appears damaged, report it to the delivery driver immediately
  • Open and inspect the package in their presence
  • Failure to report damage at delivery may void the guarantee

Tank & Water Quality Requirements

To qualify for the Live Arrival Guarantee, your aquarium must be properly established and meet the following parameters:

  • Ammonia: 0 ppm
  • Nitrites: 0 ppm
  • Nitrates: ≤ 30 ppm
  • pH: Must match the requirements of the specific fish purchased

Agreement to Terms

By purchasing from Predatory Fins, you acknowledge and agree to all terms outlined in this policy.

These policies are in place to ensure the best possible experience for both our customers and the fish we provide.

Insurance

will cover shipping cost and live arrival guarantee outside of our normal shipping policy. This means we will compensate you for any fish that died in transit and the associated shipping costs that occurred from shipping delays, damage or loss of package by shipping carrier. If shipment is late or damaged, but fish is alive, then you can claim for the shipping cost. All claims must be made within 2 hrs of receiving the package. A video must be submitted with your claim clearly showing the fish is dead in its original packaging and a second video of the fish out of the bag and on a dry flat surface. Claims may be denied if you fail to provide sufficient proof that clearly demonstrates loss. All compensation will be given in the form of store credit.
